Notting Hill Carnival 2009
Notting Hill Carnival is an annual event which since 1964 has taken place on the streets ofNotting Hill, London, UK each August, over two days (the August bank holiday Monday and the day beforehand). It is led by members of the Trinidad and Tobago (Trini) Caribbean population, many of who have lived in the area since the 1950s. The carnival has attracted up to 2 million people in the past, making it the second largest street festival in the world!
Cr2 Records held their first ever Notting Hill party this year and CCTV was there to capture all the party antics! Cr2 Records was set up in July 2004 by former Credence head honcho & one half of MYNC Project Mark Brown. In its first year Cr2 managed to muscle its way to the top of the hugely competitive house music market by releasing consistently high quality house music. With releases from the likes of Eric Prydz & Steve Angello, 100% & Danny Howells all going into the UK top 40 singles chart, its easy to see why Cr2 has forged a reputation as being one of the best independent house labels in the world, and one of the only labels with the ability to challenge the majors!
