Nikki Ibiza interviews Funkerman before he sends the Floorplay crowd in to a dance fuelled frenzy with his chunky underground house set at The Brighton Coalition.
Through years of hard work DJing and producing, Funkerman established himself internationally, and by 2004 he decided it was time to capitalise on his success, so he founded Flamingo Recordings, with fellow producer Raf and DJ/producer Fedde le Grand.
In the six years since, the label has gone from strength to strength, releasing some of the biggest house tracks of recent times, like Funkerman’s ‘Speed Up’ , Ida Corr’s ‘Let me think about it’, Fedde le Grand’s ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’ and their collaboration on ‘3 Minutes To Explain’.
Funkerman is back with the release of two new tracks “Paperbag Revolution” and “Everyday Getaway” (featured in this video). The Dutch DJ and producer who topped the download charts in 2007 and 2009 with “Speed Up” and “Remember” remains one of the hardest working men on the house scene and continues his 2010 tour into 2011 with dates booked all over the globe. Funkerman has received mass critical acclaim for his remixes and collaborations with artists from a diverse range of musical genres and has worked alongside the likes of Ida Corr, LEFT, Yoav and the Sugababes.
